Try run 'gmake' in 
jtag/python
In 'build' subdir you'll find another dir which is specific for your OS
(lib.freebsd-4.7-PRERELEASE-i386-2.2 for FreeBSD) where you'll find 
_parjtag.so.
So, just copy this to the appropriate location.
This worked for me.
