That was it, I was using gcc 3.0 because build.html suggested using it.

Chris Liechti helped me yestesday at irc and I upgraded to 3.2. The problem
is solved, now it compares floats successfully.

He also updated http://mspgcc.sf.net/build.html to suggest using 3.2.
