are some talented designers amog us? it would be nice to have a logo for the mspgcc project. there are various places where whe could use one. we would need some small ones for online documents, installers and some in higher res for printing and titlepages. i know... it's not easy to make a logo for something abstract like a compiler...
maybe an 20PIN MSP case with "MSP430" on its top and a footprint of a GNU in it, with some dynamic 3d look? an interesting PCB with MSP430 and overlayed "mspgcc" text? well, you'll have your own ideas... if you have a proposal, please submit them to me. i'll put them on the sourceforge page and we can vote which is the best. please submit png or jpg, size around 200x150 pixels (can be other aspect ratios too). would be nice if your original design can be read and edited by some common software, best if it is an open source one. say gimp, sketch. rules: the source files for the final design must be available for us it must be free as in freedom, so that we can put it anywhere without restrictions your name will be mentioned in the docs and where appropriate (no (C) text in image) the source can be a vector format or a bitmap format, but different sizes must be possible (maybe distinct versions for different resolutions) it must look good in color and grayscale you can't win money and get no price... but you can contribute to a successful open source project and for fame and honor. no deadline yet... we'll see in the next week or two what arrives and watch this place for updates. thank you and have fun! chris
