Hi all I decided to try the tools and installed the mspgcc-20030506.exe It all worked fine with a simple demo program which loads and works with TI FET P440 tool but can only debug in asm mode. When I tried the Insight debug tool it connected but failed to load with: ......... debug: MSP430: MSP430_write_mem(0x1100,ptr,0) debug: MSP430: MSP430_write_mem(0x1100,ptr,0) ( goes twice for some reason...??) error: MSP430: Couldn't write device memory (7) debug: MSP430: MSP430_write_mem(0x1100,ptr,0) error: MSP430: Couldn't write device memory (7) ........ in the DOS GDB proxy window and with Memory access error while loading section . text in GUI window.
While I was trying to investigate what could be wrong ( or what am I not doing right...) the MSP430-insight.exe sudenly stoped working ( after normal disconnect and close done at least 30 times before)???? The short DOS window is there but no GUI. Eventualy I reinstalled everything but can't get the Insight GUI to run ever again. Everything else is running OK ( gcc, giveo, gdbproxy, other unrelated applications....) and I am running XP. Any ideas / hints ???
