Steve,

Thanks for the suggestions.

I have used my Parallel port in SPP and other settings... IAR works in
multiple settings.
As for the TI mod... I have a new and old board.. no difference. Both
act the same.

I would bet the timing difference.

If I do something real stupid... pull the adapter and reconnect while
msp430-gdbproxy is running .. I will often get:

debug:  msp430: msp430_open()
info:   msp430: Target devicee is a 'MSP430F149 (type 7)
notice: msp-gdbproxy: waiting on TCP port 2000

---- since i am running this standalone (w/o gdb) to test it ... I
assume this is what I would expect.

My guess.. some timing opportunity in the startup?
If the code available for the parallel port interface.... or enough to
build gdbproxy without getting into the TI code?

The code that sits between the TI library and the physical port if called libHIL. You will find the source code in CVS.

I think someone else reported something similar - getting a good response only after tampering with the connection - but I don't know what the resolution of their problem was.

Steve
