Hi,

just tried to 'update' (and to try the cpp part).
got myself gcc-3.3.1 (full), bintuils2.14.
merged the mspgcc/gcc-3.4 into the unpacked gcc-3.3.1

compiled binutils, installed, included the /bin into PATH,
tried to make in gcc-3.3.1 dir, error:

<snip tons of output>
checking whether the C compiler ( /tmp/mspgcc++/gcc-3.3.1/gcc/xgcc -B/tmp/mspgcc++/gcc-3.3.1/gcc/ -B/tmp/msp430/msp430/bin/ -B/tmp/msp430/msp430/lib/ -isystem /tmp/msp430/msp430/include -O2 -g -O2 ) works... no configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.

it also gived the same error with gcc-3.2.3:

checking whether the C compiler (/tmp/mspgcc++/gcc-3.2.3/gcc/xgcc -B/tmp/mspgcc++/gcc-3.2.3/gcc/ -B/tmp/msp430/msp430/bin/ -B/tmp/msp430/msp430/lib/ -isystem /tmp/msp430/msp430/include -O2 -g -O2 ) works... no configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.
make: *** [configure-target-libiberty] Error 1

it also happens with gcc-3.3.1 and cvs-binutils (2.14-19).

and if only gcc-g++-xx and gcc-core are used.

Any ideas?

Thx,

        Georg
