Big speedups are in the pipeline, though. Using GDB6.0 speeds things up a lot, as it does reasonable sized writes. The current GDB 5.1.1 sometimes does reasonable sized write (300+ bytes per chunk), but keeps switching to tiny chunks (30 odd bytes) for no obvious reason. Buffering in gdbproxy is also in progress (when I get time!)
