Hi, I tried to compile Binutils, gcc, gdb and Insight under Cygwin 1.5.8 on WinXP machine ( I know Chris is(was?) using version 1.5.5, but I was unable to get it). I have also downloaded the latest stuf from CVS repository(with patches for msp430x415 and 417 support) and most important - It was at great help - Steve 's manuall posted recently. After installing all necessary tools under Cygwin -it takes me some time (at each build try there was something missing :-) ) than building the tools went fluently thanks to the manuall (I used versions of tools mentioned in there).
After succesfull start always comes questions and here they are: my purpose was to build version of gcc that support msp430x415 and 417 but msp430-gcc I' ve built doesn't seems to know for them. Runing msp430-gcc --target-help, doesn' t provide msp430x415 either 417 between known MCU names. Is that correct ?? I also failed at building Insight (try to build version 5.1.1 ). It didn' t build at all, so every sugestion highly appreciated. Nice regards to all fellows supporting this great side Saso
