I've been using mspgcc, gdb and emacs running under cygwin on Win2k on an
IBM thinkpad for about a year. We have a few parallel port FET tools from
Softbaugh. I recently bought one of there new SUB FETs with the hope of
getting it to work with mspgcc. Unfortunately, it is a bit more complicated
than I had hoped.

I found out from an engineer at Softbaugh that they had modified the
MSP430.dll from Ti to work with there USB FET. They have the source but are
not able to disclose it. In order to get it to work with other tools like
IAR they make the USB FET look like an LPT, but they redirect the commands a
few layers above the port hardware. In other words it is more involved than
just making the FET tools look like another LPT port.

Anyway, I assume whoever developed the msp430mspgcc.dll had access to the TI
*.dll's ? The guys at Softbaugh seem willing to provide instruction on how
to make the necessary modifications to make it work with their USB FET.

Is anyone working on this right now? I'm in a bit over my head but I'd be
glad to contribute in anyway I can.

Thanks-

-Jesse
