This thing can be pretty obscure. I had a recent problem (see my post of 31 
August 2004) with the reporting of .bss size by msp430-size. Arnd-Hendrik 
Mathias <arnd-hendrik.math...@stud.uni-erlangen.de> was kind enough to point 
out that the discrepancy was caused by the inclusion of the uninitialized 
data in info flash banks, in the .infomemnobits section, as part of the .bss 
size. To me this is a bug, since the .bss is in RAM and the .infomemnobits 
is in flash EPROM, separate resources requiring separate management.
