I also had a problem with the mspgcc-20041102.exe release. I'm running XP and Cygwin. I saw the same type of errors as Christo. It appears that there are line breaks missing from the assembly code generated by the compiler.
I was able to follow the docs to build the compiler myself and all seems to be well, but it would be nice to have a clean installer available. I used: ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/binutils/releases/binutils-2.14.tar.bz2 ftp://mirrors.rcn.net/pub/sourceware/gcc/releases/gcc-3.2.3/gcc-core-3.2.3.tar.bz2 ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/gdb/old-releases/insight-5.1.1.tar.bz2 in my build.
