I think those packages are pretty useless now. They haven't been updated
for over 2 years. They seem to have been abandoned. I really ought to
get my act together, and tidy up my own spec files so we generate our
own RPMs regularly.
I've had no problems with them on Fedora Core 3,4 and Ubuntu 5.04 (after
running them through alien). Everything works as advertised and they
don't depend on any outside packages.
But good rpms from the current version would be nice as well.
The main thing lacking will be support for any recent devices. There
have been a few bug fixes, but not too many. If you only use older
devices those RPMs probably won't give you a lot of trouble. However,
I'd say the lack of support for anything new is a pretty severe limitation.
