The disk file system is utterly irrelevant. Windows (other than Win9x and
friends) supports FAT and NTFS, with NTFS being the most commonly used these
days, but for most purposes, and almost all applications, there is no
difference. Similarly, almost any Linux application will work regardless of
the file system used - the differences between ext3, reiserfs, or any other
system are concerned with speed, reliability in the face of a crash or power
failure, and features like on-line resizing - none of which are application
visibile. So if you've found an article that makes Eclipse appear to depend
on using a FAT drive, it's either very obscure, wrong, or you've misread or
misunderstood something. What Eclipse does depend on is a fairly modern and
complete Java environment - once you've got that up and running, installing
Eclipse should be easy.

Subject: [Mspgcc-users] Eclipse & MSPGCC

I found a lot of articles showing how to make a IDE for mspgcc using
Eclipse.
But all them show how to make this fantastic free IDE in a FAT disk.
I wanna use mspgcc at Windows and Linux.
Does exist any way to make it in NTFS disks?
Excuse me again, but I need to use a free tool to make it.
I did use IAR a lot of times but my actual client doesn't want to buy it.

Thank you all, again.

I think those packages are pretty useless now. They haven't been updated
for over 2 years. They seem to have been abandoned. I really ought to
get my act together, and tidy up my own spec files so we generate our
own RPMs regularly.
