I'm told that T.I. will soon release a new companion part that
does wireless. However, it looks like MSPGCC may not be able
to download code to the device (depending on who one asks) and
can't debug using the USB port. Can any one confirm if this
is true, or will change in the future?
I would like to use MSPGCC either under WinME or Debian.
That would be interesting news to those use GCC with the EZ430 on
Windows and Linux.
Yup. The OP asked the same question on comp.arch.embedded, and
some WAG answered that he doubted that download/debugging
support for msp430 would ever work under Linux -- and without
it, there wasn't much point in porting gcc.
Is there an answer here some where?
Yes. Read the quoted material above. It says quite clearly
that people are using the EZ430 with GCC under both windows and
Linux.
Hi, let's all relax and not get angry about this. There was a slight gramatical error in the sentence above
("That would be interesting news to those use GCC with the EZ430 on Windows and Linux") which, to
be honest, confused me, too. I couldn't tell whether it mean to say "those that already use" or
"those wanting to use".
The point of joining a mail group is to get answers form the
people in the know, not flip comments.
Pardon me.
