I don't have/used one, but i did some development with original ez430 and Linux. In the slau227.14 Detailed HW install it is said, that * MSP-FET430UIF is a HID device, * "The USB debugging interface will work without the MSP430 Application UART", which is the second step in the HW install. If debugging works via HID (standard human interface device application protocol), this might mean, that usb-serial adapter TIUSB3410 have special firmware with implementation of this protocol. This also implies, that PC software have such protocol communication. If *optional* installation of the UART isn't optional at all, and all other steps (6-10), where COM31 is finally shown, is actual serial interface for debug and up/download, then i can't see, why HID was installed at all. But new working HID device in "Mice and other pointer devices" isn't shown, which says, that it's not worth to mention. And this is strange. So, if TIUS3410 firmware is very special (again), i.e. it has more than just serial-to-usb converting stuff, HID stuff, then i am afraid, that those of you, how have this devices would better to contact [email protected] and linux-usb mailing list. -- -o--=O`C #oo'L O <___=E M
