They're too cheap to include the eeprom. You can always add your own: 1) get an old DIMM stick 2) plug in the dimm and reprogram per pl2303 datasheet and http://lm-sensors.org/wiki/HardwareHacking 3) desolder the eeprom off the dimm and tack it on your USB adapter with magnet wires.
