Hi,

so here a short summary of the 'JTAG IF - could this be activated incidentally?' thread. I hope I can clarify my concerns a little bit.

Bit flips may occur in the different areas of the MSP430:

1. RAM
2. Special Function Registers (SFRs) like P2SEL
3. internal SFRs which cannot be addressed by firmware,
   e.g. internal JTAG registers
4. not identified yet

In all areas bit flips are fatal for long running applications which I assume is mostly the case for firmware. Fatal in this case means 'application partly/completely stopped', 'application delivering wrong results'...

So my questions are:
- how do you deal with bit flips or are you completely ignoring them?
- does anybody has further information or experience with this topic?

Many thanks for any suggestion!

Hardy
