Hi Fred,

there was a post on the mailinglist from 2009/10/01 00:24 from Hans
Nieuwenhuis. He mentioned the elprotronic flash tool that is able to flash
55xx devices. It may possibly work under a virtual machine.

Best regards,
Gerald

Betreff: [Mspgcc-users] Programming the msp430f5529 via USB on Linux

Hi everybody,

I would want to use the MSP430-FET-UIF to program a MSP430F5529. I'm on
Ubuntu Karmic.

I've tried many solutions found on the net, but I can't make it work.

With Linux version of gdbproxy I get the message :
"The FET tool version does not match this program. Update required." When I
ask for a firmware update, the same message appears.

I've tried to use the Windows version with Wine, using different MSP430.dll
I've found in CCE, IAR, etc. The best thing I obtain is : "Could not find
device (or device not supported) (4)" In other cases, this is the same
message as in Linux version.

Does anyone is able to flash or debug the MSP430F5529 with Linux ? Does the
only solution is to use Windows in a Virtual Machine ?

Thanks
Fred
