I have heard that the Mac does not like the particular way that TI has
set
up the CDC serial port on the rf2500 (ACM control port only, with no
separate
"data" channel.) I have not investigated in detail.
The USB chip used on all these parts is programmable, loading its code
from
either a serial eeprom or USB. So (unfortunately) two similar-looking
devices
from the same place that are supposed to do the same thing may contain
different
firmware and work entirely differently. :-(
