While working on my project I had a look at the TI MSP430 DLLv3 Wiki and I the version changed from beta to beta 2. I don't know if there was any information about this anywhere. So what, I updated my project to this version and it extends the supported targets to about 260. Maybe more, but I don't know how to handle devices like the L092. The list is given by TI and i tested only a few 5xx devices because I do not own more. Other tester and results welcome :-)
See the new version on http://sourceforge.net/projects/msp4linux/files/ msp430_add_alpha_0.2.tar.bz2 There is a new executable which works a bit like the mspdebug with the name mspdb_v3. Anyway, there are just a few features including file upload (TI-TXT format), erase, run and reset. To use it you need a MSP-FET430UIF (no other HW supported) with the v3 firmware. The firmware change is revertable and described at the TI v3 Wiki (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MSP430.dll_v3). As long as I know no way to change the firmware with linux, a Windows box is needed to do this.
