Yep, new firmware is installed in the TI3410 that provides a CDC interface. Have you tried using any applications other than minicom for accessing CDC interfaces, like ser2net? If you want to upgrade your FET, you'll need to follow the upgrade instructions on the TI wiki page to update the USB firmware: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MSP_Debug_Stack#Upgrade_process_to_MSP430.DLLv3 Unfortunately there's currently only an upgrade tool provided for Windows.
