The mingw builds are very easy to use. It's nothing like cygwin, it's
exactly like every other program for windows. MinGW is just the term for
the gcc compiler that targets native Windows. You shouldn't be able to tell
the difference between mingw executables and anything else. You can use the
standard command prompt or any other tools (as opposed to the cygwin
prompt). Also, if you're not a command line junkie I think there's an
eclipse setup for it, though I don't really know since I like the command
line just fine.
