We have a problem connecting a MSP430F1122 chip to the parallel
programmer.
When running "/opt/msp430/msp430-gdbproxy-new msp430" the program says:
debug: msp430: msp430_open()
info: msp430: Target device is a 'Device unknown' (type 0)
notice: msp430-gdbproxy: waiting on TCP port 2000
..and then refuses to erase or program the chip when connected to the
proxy using msp430-gdb.
If we use the older batches of chips they report which chip they are and
everything runs fine.
I have downloaded various programmers on our windows based test PCs and
can erase both chips but cant program. I also downloaded msp430-gdbproxy
for windows and get the same issue with Target device is a 'Device
unknown' (type 0).
Older batches work fine but we have none left, and both the supplier and
manufacturer only have new batches, all of which fail to program.
I have just found out that the chips that work are die revision D and
the newer chips are revision F. However there is no information on any
differences between them that I can find.
I think that msp430-gdbproxy just doesn't recognise the newer revision?
OK I think thats all the information I can give you, any questions just
ask.
