The patches are still relevant since they apply to the versions of
msp430-libc and msp430mcu that are to be used when building the
LTS-20120406 version of mspgcc.

Each mspgcc release including LTS-20120406 specifies the versions of
all subordinate packages that comprise it.  Mixing version across
mspgcc releases is not recommended as it produces a combination that
has not been validated and may have incompatible interface changes.
In particular, the 20120716 versions of msp430-libc and msp430mcu
include 20-bit aware material that may not be recognized or processed
correctly by the earlier versions of mspgcc.

The set of packages comprising each release of mspgcc is provided in
the file RELEASES.TXT at
