yes, but I am not using packages, only applications. It has a hierarchy setting 
that will keep the client up to date by itself. I am just turning that on.

In my experience, no, it doesn't take care of it itself.  I've read a blog post 
somewhere that listed steps to enable the use of the PATCH property to install 
the .msp for CU1 in the TS step, but haven't tried it.  I apply the CU1 client 
update via SCUP after the fact.

I installed CU1. Do I need to do anything in regards to changing the command 
line for the install sccm client step in a TS or does it handle those things 
itself now?

Trying to resolve that issue with platformpolicy and the date.
