The data is populated by a software updates scan.  Then the information is 
consumed by hardware inventory.  So if you kick off an sccm updates scan and 
then after its done, kick a hardware inventory, you will get the info you want 
into inventory.

I can see the version mentioned in windowsupdate.log as well as checking the 
version of wuaueng.dll.

ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 CU1. I have run the hinv manually and it still doesn't 
update.

WUA version is reported from Win32_WindowsUpdateAgentVersion, so you may want 
to check on client thru WMI if there is a change. You may also check your HW 
and Software Updates Agent schedules, chances are later has one week frequency 
hence delay

Just curious why after having the WUA updated by WSUS to 7.6.7600.256, the WUA 
version reported by hinv (via resource explorer) is reported as 7.4.7600.226.
