Ah, I had the toolkit step, but not the gather, that did it. Thanks Michael.
Additionally, for anybody following along, setting the gather step to “local
only” was sufficient.

The "Install Roles and Features" step must be preceded by "Use Toolkit Package"
and "Gather" steps, as covered in the documentation 😊

Thanks,

Sorry I should mention my TS is in SCCM 2012 SP1, and I’ve added the “Install
Roles and Features” step from the MDT 2012 U1 integration.

I’m trying to use the Install Roles and Features MDT task sequence item to
install some features into Windows Server 2012 and the step fails with:

FAILURE ( 9003 ): Unknown OS current version value, unable to install roles.
(OSCurrentVersion = )

…

Failed to run the action: Install Roles and Features. DNS name does not exist.
(Error: 0000232B; Source: Windows)

I’ve dumped the variables from my TS session and OSCurrentVersion does not seem
to exist as a variable. When/where does this variable get set?

I found a post from Peter vandwoude form July of last year where he describes
this error on all of the CTP/RC/BETA versions of everything. Is there
something I can do to get around this?

Todd
