Searching on the service name will eliminate all of those tools only installs...

This will give you a list of all servers that have SQL Server installed.

SELECT DISTINCT cs.Name0 As CompurerName, os.Caption0
FROM v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM cs
INNER JOIN v_GS_SERVICE s ON s.ResourceID = cs.ResourceID
INNER JOIN v_GS_OPERATING_SYSTEM os ON os.ResourceID = cs.ResourceID
WHERE S.Name0 LIKE 'MSSQL%'
 AND os.Caption0 LIKE '%SERVER%'

To get specific versions, that other link posted is a better option.

Looking for a more accurate, as that may show just the tools installed but no

What are you looking for here? You could find SQL Server instances by searching
on the service name LIKE MSSQL%.

Guys, any good blog posts on sql installation detections thru SCCM\CM, even if
it's just SQL queries themselves?
