If I understand your question, if you have enabled incremental update on a collection, you should have a full update scheduled as well.

The incremental updates add new members of the AD groups every 5 mins as I expected, but what I didn't expect is that when I remove a computer from the AD group the incremental updates remove that system from the collection also. I thought incremental updates only worked with additions and not removals. With that in mind, would there be any reason I would need to keep full updates enabled on these collections? Daniel.
