ConfigMgr folks should take note of this new Windows PowerShell v4.0 feature: Desired Configuration Management. Sound familiar? That's because it is, only this doesn't require using ConfigMgr :)
I would suggest that this feature could be used as a supplement to ConfigMgr, not to replace it.
