Back to the future. When I started work in 1980 my company was using a mainframe "server" in the data center to deliver virtual desktops via IBM's VM OS. I figure by the time I retire all the Windows workstations we have will be back in the data center running on a "server" and the end users will connect to them either using thin/zero clients (instead of the 80's dumb terminals) or their own device.

We will be 90% VDI by November at which time all data stays in the data center. They need a solid data backup/recovery plan... limited or no access to corp makes that a non-starter as a destination, so means they must rely upon their own methods (ext USB drive and B/U sw for ex)... having a SkyDrive available makes for a very nice addition to or an alternate for the USB scenario. I find that the trickle upload action I get from my SkyDrive works incredibly well and I have a really crap internet connection... same process used in OneNote as well. Or "taking" data.... Cool idea. Just not in an enterprise. So far we've been testing Office 2013 in IT and the only problem we have is the prominent integration of SkyDrive. Does anyone know if there is a way, via the Office 2013 admin setup or GPO, to disable SkyDrive but keep the SharePoint syncing features? Thanks in advance!
