No it will not. The gpo checks for the product code of the msi. The new msi even though you give it a new name will not have the same product code. You will have to create a new one.

We're using software installation to install an MSI for another product we use. If I want to use a newer version of this installer, and I name it the same as the earlier version, will it still install without making any changes to group policy?
