So what I am currently planning to do is:

run the "preinst.exe /stopsite " command to stop all the appropriate components
on my primary site server
power down the remote DB server
have the server personnel perform the work on the remote DB server
restart the remote DB server
reboot the primary server (all components/services should restart)

Any comments or suggestions? Anyone have experiences they would like to share
with performing maintenance on their primary site with remote database?

Thanks!

Subject: [mssms] steps when powering off remote SCCM database

I need to take my primary site remote SCCM 2007 Database offline for server
maintenance for up to one hour. Does anyone have a link to Microsoft best
practices regarding how to handle this? I haven't had much luck finding info on
how to properly proceed...
