It's just a database. I'm assuming you are doing backups of sql. Just have a routine where you restore JUST the database to some server doing very little (but has SQL of the right version, and enough space) with an old backup. That'll of course mean that you keep backups going back for xx months or more. You may just want to have some kind of rotating FIFO of your SQL Backups; maybe just keep the last "first of the month" backups for the last 18 months on some server with lots o' space. then you can restore into that sql whichever DB time frame they want.

Is there a way to archive old SCCM hardware inventory data rather than deleting it when it ages out. I like to remove aged SCCM objects from the database, but sometimes we are asked to provide historic information about a computer. I like to keep the DB cleaned of objects that have been removed from the domain after 90 days, but sometimes I am asked to provide information about a machine no one has seen for a year or more. I don’t want that old data clogging up the active SCCM data. Is anyone doing something like that? What tools would I use? ________________________________ Notice: This UI Health Care e-mail (including attachments) is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C. 2510-2521, is confidential and may be legally privileged.
