I had clients left over in my 07 console because the site server had no knowledge of the removal of the 07 client on the endpoint. If the client says it's got the 2012 client, then that's the client it's got. Anything left in the 2007 console is left over and only as current as the last time it talked to the 07 site server before the 2012 client was installed.
