That data populates from Active Directory discovery, so the question is;
Do you have more than 1 Active Directory you are inventorying?
If you do have more than 1, does the system exist in both of them with
differing data?

Do you have differential AD Discovery enabled? If so and the entry exists
already in the database, when that differential comes in, it may not do a full
update of the entry in SCCM.... (Yea I have the same problem too) but when the
FULL AD inventory cycle runs, it usually will correct those discrepancies.
If the entry exists in more than 1 AD being inventoried, the entry may flip
flop back and forth with confusion from the other AD entry.

Subject: [mssms] Operating System Name

Please folks, can you help me with two questions?

01. Where ConfigMgr find Operating System Name and Version property? It is not
present in Computer object inside Active Directory.

02. I have one Windows 7 showing as Windows NT Workstation 6.0. But 6.0 is
Windows Vista, Windows 7 is 6.1, why this is happening? All my other Windows 7
is showing 6.1 version, juts that is 6.0, see print below:
