Correct on the third-party cert for OOB - OOB does not generate any of its own certs.

The Certificate Requirements for Out of Band Management<http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc161874.aspx> article details an Out of band service point certificate that resides in the personal store of the OOB site system. Although reading through this article again, I believe this is the 3rd party certificate we have purchased and is assigned to the site system via the out of band management component, rather than it being a specific certificate based on the servers identity, which lead me to ask the question in the first place. I must confess I find certificates it to be somewhat a black art! As for out PKI infrastructure, fortunately it is managed by another team that are far more experienced with such matters :) Thanks for the advice. Not very familiar with all the3 ins and outs of OOB, but the certs are created by your PKI, not the OOB point. The OOB point is just a layer of management/communication so doesn't really have any "state" - just like an MP or secondary site. Thus, there's nothing really to back or recover. Your PKI is a whole different discussion though. We are running ConfigMgr 2007 SP3 R2 and we are using the Out of Band Service Point. I am reviewing our Backup and Recovery documentation I was wondering if anyone knows if there are specific backup procedures for the Out of Band Service Point, or if the Site Backup Maintenance task covers this. I ask as there are certificates generated based on the sever the role is running on and there doesn't seem to be anything regarding this in the general documentation.
