Make sure you also create a new object in AD for the system as 2012 does use
the SID of the computer object to match up resources.

When you reimage it will get a new GUID and should obsolete the old record. Set
up your maintenance tasks in the console to remove obsolete records and this
process will be automatic for you.

Deleting a system from SCCM also removes any historical data associated with
it. You could script the removal of the device from SCCM.

Subject: [mssms] Purge Computer from CM12 SP1

We just deployed CM for the first time in our shop. We do a 3+2 year
replacement cycle, so one person gets a new machine for 3 years then someone
else gets it for 2 years after those 3 years.

We do a complete re-image between the two, but we want no settings, no
assignments, no inventory data, no nothing to be around when the computer gets
deployed the second time.

Anyone know what we can do to make sure CM is cleaned up? Preferably something
I can automate. In the past, I've had our techs run a "decommission" script on
the box that removed it out of AD but I don't think that's enough anymore.
