Natively, I don't think so. You could create your own console extension though.

Is there a way to add a column of data in the device collection?

Often times I am looking up someone's device in the console, I have to refer to 
AD to look at the description to see who's machine it is. Now assuming that the 
data is correct, is there a way to add the description field from AD into the 
device collection?

That way when I look at the machines that let's say are inactive, I can quickly 
look and see who's machine it is.

I am trying to avoid having to look in multiple areas for the information.
