Darn, correction. I confused the SQL instance blank issue with the reporting point. I do have that issue, but that's something else.
So, the simple question is what do you think about this? -R From: Roland Janus [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Montag, 16. Most of what I want to do is rather clear and works, but I'd like some feedback on specifics if you don't mind J - Everything VM. We get decent stuff, dedicated hosts if required.. - CAS (200k clients, so sadly no choice and I've tried with the prod. group believe me.) o Single server, local SQL - 2 x Primary, each with: o Site Server o Remote SQL (also tried to go local, but same issue, if not supported we can't) o 4 MP Replicas / DPs (I may reduce the DPs, don't need that many, but to clarify what they could share). o 1 SUP Now the SUP is the open question. So far I've only tried to use SQL from the remote SQL server and SUP on the site server. What I'd like to do is: - Put SQL, WSUS and SUP on the same site server. This is the only role, hence would support 100'000 clients each. But can the roles be installed like that? Can the primary actually sync to the remote box then? I'm asking since I've tried to put the SUP to a remote box, but then the wizard didn't give me the instance of the (remote) sql box, hence couldn't finish the wizard. I can't find a lot about this scenario. I did about the instance being blank issue, but it doesn't seem to apply. It works from the site server to the remote SQL, just not from the remote SUP to the remote SQL. I've rules most of it out, but if that has to work then I have to investigate more. So, everything WSUS, SQL, SUP on a site system remote to the site server. Does that work in principle? I hope I explained it good enough.
