Hi Marcia

Branch Cache is a great technology in that it will, for free, allow you to
deploy offices with no server infrastructure.

What you will find however is that you will be somewhat limited in what you can
do in that things like:

PXE BOOTUSMTOperating System Deployment
will not be available to you across the localised network - for these you will
need to go across the WAN or use some other technology such as USB media.

You will also find that Branch Cache is a technology which is subnet based, so
if for perfectly valid reasons you had an office with, say 30 users split
across 2 subnets then you would have to have two Branch-Cache implementations.

If you are looking for something able to offer a fuller service then this is
going to cost you. Possible players are DPs in the offices, 1E or Adaptiva

Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2013 19:06:47 +0000

Has anyone used Branch Cache and Pull Distribution Points in SCCM 2012 with
workstations or servers successfully? If so, what type of SCCM environment do
you
 have.
