At my last place, they wanted the ability to uninstall a program on a computer, prompt the user telling them they were uninstalling something, but not tell them what. I guess they had a rule that users had to be notified of machine changes, but their software reclamation team didn't want people to know their unused software was being removed.
I've also had someone ask for manual instructions to change some network settings to enable WOL. I explained that I wrote a script to do this, but he believed the settings would be more accurately changed if his tech team (not him) manually changed them, on 5000 machines.
