Didn't copy it, I have 2 sites in my domain, one at home and one that travels!
After reading below, I see that is not an answer to the question you had.
Sorry.

Performing a Backup using the SMS Backup task and then a recovery with that
data should put you very close to completion though.

Thanks,

How did you handle copying the SCCM data though?

I had to do this. I installed VMWare Workstation on my laptop (Lenovo W530,
32gb RAM, 2x480gb SSD) and built a server that I promoted to a DC in my home
lab. Allowed it to replicate and voila! Instant domain on my laptop.

So I just installed a SQL box and the product boxes all pointing to the single
SQL box. With the SSD works GREAT!!

When I get back home I crank it up and let it replicate again to sync, but I
have a full domain environment that I carry around with me.

Thanks,

Subject: [mssms] Cloning from production 2007 Environment into Test lab

Hi All,

To test a software product from 1E for one of my clients, we need to pretty
much clone our production database into a separated test lab for a limited time.

Has anyone ever done something like this before and can share their thoughts?
 What really goes into this?

  I'm assuming I'll need to:

  * Build a copy of our current production or clone the VMs into a separated
test network (including one Domain Controller)
  *   Install SCCM 2007
  * Either perform a SQL import of the database, or run the Site Recovery
wizard and import the data that way
I understand this is a newbish question, but it is a scenario I've not run
into before now.

Thanks!

Stephen Owen
