Jeff,
Or Group Policy Preferences :) I can't imagine that there would be a major, negative impact to making that change, though I have not tested it before. It looks like there is a 2 minute delay between the time that the last "Automatic" service starts up, and the "Automatic (Delayed Start)" services start up. Cheers, Trevor Sullivan From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jeff Poling Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2013 1:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [mssms] CM12 Client Startup Type It appears that in ConfigMgr 2012 SP1, the SMS Agent Host and Configuration Manager Remote Control services are configured with a startup type of "Automatic (Delayed Start)." This is causing some frustration in my current environment because there will be a delay of several minutes before a remote control session can be initiated to a PC after it is rebooted. Can the startup type for the services referenced above be changed without much impact? I did see the following post that seems to indicate it is OK: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c339a6cc-fb0d-4b15-8fed-06c aee20b003/delayed-startup-on-sms-agent-host-service?forum=configmanagerdeplo yment As a follow up to the initial question, has anyone changed the service startup type? I can think of multiple ways to accomplish it across the environment (script, Compliance Settings?, etc.) Thanks, Jeff
