Hey all,

Anyone on R2 getting errors in their sitecomp.log file on their site servers
when publishing Management Point data to AD?

Just noticed this after the R2 upgrade, turns out it was using the Network
Access Account to publish the data not the computer account.

Publishing [SiteSErverName] as a Management Point into Active Directory.
SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER

This was followed by two lines of failure saying it couldn't. Turns out it was
an access issue even though all the access security for the computer account
was correct on the system management container in AD, we added the Network
Access Account in to System Management Container in AD with the same security
as the Computer account and it just worked. Got a ticket logged with MS on this
one. We used netmon to confirm that SCCM was using the network access account
to publish the data, the NAA also showed up in the event logs on the DC.

SMS-MP-[SITECODE]-[SITESERVER] could not be created with ConfigMgr 2007/2012
schema, error code = 5. SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER

SMS-MP-[SITECODE]-[SITESERVER] could not be created, Win32 error = 5
SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER 24/10/2013 6:05:02 PM 4692 (0x1254)

Cheers,
Andre.
