Need some advice on the cause of the below, SCCM 2007 SP2 R2.
Issue:
During OSD, when it checks for package locations, machine still tries to
connect to the old server (Server1) and then times out, then goes to next
in the list and repeats this and takes forever for the actual build to
commence.
Cause:
We replaced a secondary server as the old one was running very low on disk
space and we needed a functioning server ASAP, so I moved all the
boundaries to the new server, this has replicated up the hierarchy to our
central site, yet when it tries to do OSD, it still looks for the old
server.(Server1) as well as finding the new one (Server2) and the primary
(Server3)
I have checked AD and deleted from system management container following
objects: sms-mp-ABC-Server1 and also the SMS-ABC-……..
mSSMSRoamingBoundaryRange objects.
We still need the old server in the hierarchy as the disks will be
available soon so it will be back online, its now in a different location,
so will need new IP address etc.
