It's all about securing client traffic. Does your organization require your
client communication to be secure? If so, the HTTPS is appropriate. If not, the
HTTP is sufficient.

Subject: [mssms] Recommendations for 2012 R2, HTTPs only or HTTPs when
available?

Hi all,

Clients are always either VPN'd or connected from within the intranet. No
need for always-on manageability or anything like that.

What do you guys recommend for this scenario?

I guess a better question would be what do you look for to know which
communication mode is appropriate for a client?
