Thanks, will check the next machine that gets reported to me. Worked on the
machine the customer gave to me, but already saw about a dozen where ccmsetup
didn't delete the folder and shortcuts.

I haven’t seen this in my environment – folder and shortcuts get removed as
part of the upgrade.

I ran
 get-childitem
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft System Center
2012 R2"
-recurse |
where{$_.psiscontainer}
| get-acl
| Out-Gridview

Against my folder and have the following permissions (blacked out item is my
currently logged in domain user account).

Anything weird with permissions on the shortcut?
Rip it out with a group policy preference, would be a band-aid fix.

Nope, it's still showing the Software Center link. Users are now confused as to
why they have two Software Centers. One in System Center 2012 Configuration
Manager and one in System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager.

Is the folder empty?

Hi all,

anyone came across the problem that the client update process from SP1 to R2 is
not able to delete the start menu folder which points to the Software Center?
This is happening to a lot of users in a current project of mine and people
start to get confused.

The ccmsetup.log actually says it's unable to delete the folder, but doesn't
say why.
