I've seen a couple of one-off reports of it in the forums but nothing concrete
and not personally either.

If you can find a case of this, please, please report it to CSS.

Subject: [mssms] Has anyone run into Available deployments behaving as if they
are Required deployments

We have started seeing cases where a software deployment that is configured to
be "Available" with the expectation that the end user would select the software
and install it at their convenience installs without the end user initiating
the installation.

We had not seen this happen until after our environment was upgraded to
Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 from 2012 RTM. But we have not found any
discussion in forums of this being symptomatic of SP1.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Jeff
?? ?
I'm not even sure there is such a thing as the Internet. I think it may just be
Carl telling everybody stuff.
