Mike,

As I'm sure you are well aware, ConfigMgr is just one piece of the puzzle.
TechEd obviously covers much more than just ConfigMgr. While having the
consultant will surely be valuable to you, the scope of his visit is fairly
limited to ConfigMgr, and the specific items you have contracted to cover.
There is much more valuable information that TechEd will offer in addition
to what the consultant will offer you.

Cheers,

Trevor Sullivan

Subject: [mssms] Help needed convincing the boss to get me to TechEd!

I really want to attend TechEd, but our CIO may not approve it. We have a
consultant coming in March to help us spin up a new CM2012 instance that
will cover the entire campus. During his engagement, he will be transferring
knowledge to me, which our CIO sees as sufficient training, therefore he
doesn't see any reason why I should be going to TechEd.

I already have been working with CM2012 for some time now, so the daily ins
and outs of its operation are not an issue for me. But I loved the MMS
conferences I attended and got so much out of them.

So, can you folks help me convince my CIO that even with this consultant
coming in, TechEd would still be well worth the money?

Best Regards,
